HealthEngine, Australia’s largest online healthcare marketplace, today announced the appointment of ex-LinkedIn Director, Edward Bray, as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

The appointment comes after a landmark 2017 for HealthEngine, with the company raising AU$26.7 million in its Series C funding round led by Sequoia, achieving 87% year-on-year growth and effectively doubling its workforce across its Sydney, Melbourne and Perth offices.

With over 2 million unique visitors a month, and tens of thousands of medical practitioners on the platform, HealthEngine is transforming the way Australians access healthcare services.

Dr Marcus Tan, HealthEngine’s CEO and Medical Director, says Bray will play a crucial role in ensuring HealthEngine further cements itself as the go-to platform for Australians looking to take more control of their health through technology. “With over two million Australians turning to HealthEngine to manage their health each month, we are constantly experimenting and re-evaluating ways in which we can improve the healthcare journey for both the patient and practitioner.”

“From day one, our goal has been to empower patients to access and manage their healthcare through technology, while at the same time providing healthcare professionals with the tools they need to be more effective and efficient within their day-to-day work.”

“Ensuring we achieve this goal means hiring the right people that share our vision — with that in mind we are excited to welcome Edward to the HealthEngine family and have no doubt that his years of experience will help continue to drive HealthEngine forward throughout 2018 and beyond.”

Edward Bray
Edward Bray brings over 16 years experience as a senior-level marketing professional to HealthEngine, working across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. He joins HealthEngine after leading the marketing team for LinkedIn’s Sales and Marketing solutions businesses in APAC including China and Japan.

“Technology is having an impact on every aspect of our lives. HealthEngine is leading this change for the healthcare sector in Australia. I’m excited to be part of this transformation, and to help HealthEngine through the next phase of growth,” Bray said.

Bray has also previously worked with Fairfax Media for nine years, holding senior managerial positions across several verticals including The Australian Financial Review, Herald Publications, MyCareer and Fairfax Business Media.

Bray’s arrival is another addition to HealthEngine’s already impressive leadership team, which is led by Founder, CEO and Medical Director, Dr. Marcus Tan, and co-Founder and Head of Product, Adam Yap.
